Plan A Ceremony
A service does not have to be elaborate to be meaningful - or expensive to be done well.
THE SERVICE IS YOURS TO SHAPE
Too often a family is handed a package and asked which tier they want. We would rather ask what you actually want to happen, and then tell you honestly what it costs. Below are the forms a service most often takes at Blair’s. Any of them can be combined, trimmed, or set aside entirely.
Graveside Service
A gathering at the cemetery, at the place your family will return to. We bring the deceased in our own motor equipment at no additional cost, and our staff stays for as long as the service runs.
Service At Your Church
Blair's does not operate a chapel, and we have never needed one - your congregation already has a room that means something to your family. We deliver, set up, and coordinate with your pastor or celebrant.
Memorial Service After Cremation
A memorial gathering held after the cremation, on whatever date suits your family. Because there is no time pressure, out-of-town relatives can be there, and the day can be chosen rather than dictated.
Scattering At Sea
For families who want their loved one returned to open water rather than a plot. We handle the permits and the arrangements, and can return a portion of the remains to you if you wish.
A Private Family Gathering
Some families want no formal service at all - just the urn, the people who loved them, and a table. That is a complete and dignified choice, and it costs you nothing extra to make it.
WHAT WE HANDLE EITHER WAY
- Transfer of your loved one from the place of death into our care
- Holding and refrigeration as required by law
- Death certificates, disposition permits, and the other necessary forms
- Notification of death to the Social Security Administration
- Use of our motor equipment for church and graveside services, at no additional cost
- Return of the cremated remains to the legal representative
Tell us what you have in mind
There is no charge and no obligation to talk it through. Our staff answers the phone 24 hours a day.
